THE MANCHESTER WIRELESS SOCIETY

The GB3MI-R operates on the  frequency 145.7125 mhz  and is a VOIP repeater connected to the ECHOLINK system
To access the repeater a CTCSS tone of  82.5hz  is the easiest method of opening the repeater. The Tone burst will not connect this repeater to any location.
Listed below are some ways to access the gateway using DTMF tones.

Once connected remember to leave a short pause to see if any one from the other link is all ready talking. After each over,  Some Echolink connections need a pause to reset the timers so you don't time out.

On GB3MI repeater we have a slightly different set up to most other repeaters in the area. The repeater will give two "K" in cw for normal operating for local stations, Should a station call in via the internet  an annoucement of the connecting station will be broadcast over  GB3MI follwed by an "I"  in cw. Then every subsequent over form the station(s) on the internet will be followed by a single "I" in cw

There are around 2,500 Echolink stations:-  700 repeaters, 750 Links, 600 pc users and 120 conference's
